  • An attractive opportunity is presented within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) to join the leadership team of the Clinical Coding Service. You will be responsible for providing coding auditing and education within the Clinical Coding Service and to Clinical Directorates across CALHN. This will include the coordination and control of related activities and the standard of work quality/delivery, and to provide relevant skills and experience in Clinical Coding education and auditing. This may include issues relating to Health Information Management and Casemix/Activity Based Funding (ABF). You will contribute significantly toward the achievement of revenue maximisation, data quality and the comprehensive Casemix profile within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital - the most technologically-advanced hospital in Australia. The new RAH is the cornerstone of the reformed SA Health system, harnessing the latest in architectural design in order to create a state-of-the-art health environment for patients, and a positive working environment for staff.

    It is desirable that you possess a satisfactory completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) Intermediate Coding Course, together with demonstrated competency in ICD-10-AM or a Certificate in HIMAA Advanced Coding. This will be supported by your advanced computer skills enabling data collection and analysis, including the use of the Access database and Health Information Portal (HIP) for running reports. Your strong interpersonal and skills will equip you to communicate effectively with all staff within the Local Health Network.
