About the role

As a Health Information Manager at GMHBA you will ensure that we pay for services provided to our members in line with contracts, agreements and Legislation; you will also assist the Fund to ensure that health provider contracting achieves efficient and effective outcomes. The initial focus of the role is hospital claims and over time will incorporate a broader focus across medical and ancillary claims as required of the business.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

Day to day, you’ll work collaboratively with the Claims Team, Benefits Management and Providers to:

Review claims and make sure they are paid correctly Communicate audit findings and decisions to Providers (Hospital) Inform the business on matters regarding Hospital Activity, Casemix and Clinical Data Accurately record and report on Audit findings, trends and results

About you

As the successful candidate, you’ll have:

A relevant Tertiary qualification in Health Information Management Practical experience and competency in nosology/clinical classification/coding using appropriate clinical classification systems (ICD-10-AM 10TH Edition and the Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI).

Practical experience with reporting tools and relational data concepts.

High level computer skills, including sound understanding and use of Microsoft Excel and Access and computer skills applicable to coding and casemix.

Highly developed written, verbal and analytical skills Effective time management, planning and organisational skills You enjoy interacting with people and establishing effective relationships with a diverse range of individuals.

An interest in the private health insurance sector.
