Manage a team of Clinical Coding Professionals at Greater Metro Newcastle Health Service.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a strategic, leadership role in Health Information Management as a Clinical Coding specialist. The Coding Manager is responsible for the professional leadership of clinical coders for the John Hunter, Belmont and Tomaree Hospitals. The successful applicant will be required to facilitate and ensure the maintenance of a high level of coding quality and accuracy and ensure completion of coding within designated deadlines.

As a confident communicator and collaborative leader, the successful applicant will develop and promote clinical coding across multidisciplinary teams involved in the care and treatment of a variety of inpatient specialities. The Manager will have the opportunity to develop and employ appropriate education, mentoring, support and audit programmes and resources to ensure a sustainable and effective clinical coder workforce.

The Coding of diverse paediatric specialities including PICU for the John Hunter Children’s Hospital, a referral centre for children up to the age of 18; rehabilitation for the Rankin Park Hospital; the general specialities for the Belmont Hospital and community health for the Tomaree Hospital are covered by the service.
