The Senior Information Analyst will be working as part of a team and will bring together a range of data sources. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the incumbent will contribute to the analysis of the data sets and the provision of information including key performance indicators and other reports for mental health and drug services in Victoria.

This is a fixed term full-time position until 5 April 2019 based in Melbourne CBD (Classification: VPSG5, Salary Range: $95,275 - $115,276, plus superannuation)

  1. Demonstrated expertise in the successful management and provision of data and information for projects within tight timeframes and meeting user specifications and expectations.
  2. Highly developed work organisation skills with the capacity to set meaningful priorities within a changing environment, pay particular attention to detail in all undertakings and successfully balance competing priorities.
  3. Knowledge of the health sector from a technological and business perspective.
  4. Excellent conceptual and analytical skills contributing to the resolution of complex data issues including the ability to identify and analyse emerging issues and trends.
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills particularly as demonstrated in the management of relationships with a diverse client base and within a sensitive operational environment. Proven ability to translate and communicate technical information to non-technical people.

  8. Ability to prepare and support the development of timely and accurate briefs, memos and reports by providing expert advice on complex data issues.

Specialist Expertise

  • Knowledge and experience of working with data using tools such as SQL Server, MS Excel and MS Access.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health, Drug Treatment Services or other health information systems.


Desirable: 
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline will be regarded favourably
