We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health Information Manager to cover this long service leave position.

Bass Coast Health is the major public healthcare provider within the Bass Coast Shire in South Gippsland and is currently experiencing exceptional growth.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for delivery of quality Health Information Services across the Health Service, encompassing medical records administration, clinical costing, statutory and statistical reporting.

Responsibilities / Duties: 
  • To provide strong leadership and management of the Health Information Service.
  • Collection and provision of data and information for reporting, planning, monitoring, research, evaluation and management purposes.
  • Maintain compliance with all mandatory internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, combined with maintaining professional links within Bass Coast Health and region.


Essential: 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management.
  • Ability to provide quality advice, accurate and timely reporting.
  • Demonstrate initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Previous experience in the Patient Administration System – iPM.
  • Eligible for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia.


Desirable: 
  • Previous management experience in a hospital and aged care setting.
  • Minimum five years post-graduate experience.
  • Competent in a range of Microsoft Office applications.
