THE TEAM

Telstra Health has been selected by the Australian Government to deliver and operate the Australian National Cancer Screening Register. The National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) will further enhance the way cancer screening is undertaken in Australia. A national approach based on the principle of 'one person, one record' and using the latest technology will further improve prevention, detection and treatment of bowel and cervical cancers among Australians. The Register will integrate and extend the existing national bowel cancer register and the eight separate state and territory-based cervical cancer registries. Each person will have a single online record which they will be able to access anytime, anywhere. Medical providers will be able to access patient records, with patient consent, from their desktops at any time. The NCSR commenced implementation in 2017 and will manage screening for more than 11 million people.

THE ROLE
To support additional workload within our NCSR Clinical SME team we require two Health Information Management Consultants/Project Managers to assist and support the existing Health Information Management Team with the co-ordination of data management and related activities as we commence operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Under direction of the Senior Health Information managers, you will oversee data quality and audit activities for the NCSR.
  • In collaboration with the NCSR epidemiologists you will be contributing to reporting requirements and testing of post go live items.
  • Additionally, you will assist in driving automation in histology coding and mapping for the NCSR In addition deliverables may also include training, assisting with data management business as usual activities, refinement and updating documentation of procedures, and regular reporting.
  • You will also have the opportunity to assist with other project activities

  • You will be able to demonstrate the ability to engage, develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships to ensure achievement of program objectives and outcomes relevant to the delivery of the NCSR
  • You will be someone with high attention to detail and commitment to delivery of high quality outcomes, with a solution focussed mindset and the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
  • Excellence in partnerships, communications (effective written and verbal communication skills), collaboration, with a strong ability to communicate and negotiate organisational change
  • Knowledge of clinical terminologies and data management with experience in gap analysis
  • Aptitude to learn quickly and apply knowledge across different contexts within the Health Industry
  • Demonstrated experience working in planning, development and or implementation of programs and or services within the health arena
  • Demonstrated strong organisational and project management skills with an ability to set priorities, plan and act to achieve desired outcomes within a specified time frame
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, management, business or related field
