WW6153 - Senior Costing Manager - (Full-time) - NSW Health - North Sydney, NSW

Activity Based Management (ABM) is a facility within the Health System Support Group of NSW Health based in North Sydney. The primary purpose of ABM is to develop and maintain activity based costing (ABC) methodologies and best practice models for NSW Health; develop standard costs for the delivery of health service products in accordance with the National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC) and NSW ABC costing standards; and to provide leadership across all aspects of activity based costing for NSW Health.



Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary function of the Senior Costing Manager is to:

  • Provide regular monthly progress reports to the Manager, Clinical Cost Data Collection and Standards on agreed deliverables against approved work plan.
  • Manage, maintain and develop clinical costing systems and associated databases.
  • Provide technical advice and support to internal and external stakeholders, including Local Health Districts and Specialty Health Networks on costing products, enhancements, projects, variance analysis and a variety of benchmark and ad hoc analysis and support.
  • Act as a product costing lead on costing projects for other teams within the ABM.
  • Prepare reports related to the conduct of clinical (product) costing activities undertaken by NSW Health.


Essential:

Candidates will preferably be able to demonstrate knowledge of health data systems with a particular understanding of those related to patient care and costing . Demonstrate knowledge of financial management principles, structures, processes and practices and have experience developing, implementing and evaluating funding models, policies and strategic frameworks. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
