About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic HIM to lead a team in two new Hospitals in south-east Melbourne: Holmesglen Private Hospital and Frankston Private Hospital.

Located at Holmesglen Institute of Tafe’s Moorabbin campus, Holmesglen Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art 147 bed facility, providing an extensive range of healthcare services including a 24-hour Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Integrated Theatres, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and Oncology services as well as providing a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services.

Frankston Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art 60 patient-bed facility that provides a range of acute health services including endoscopy, oncology, ophthalmology, ear nose & throat, neurology, general, breast and plastic surgery, orthopaedics and urology.
This leadership role will be responsible for leading the Health Information Services departments across two new sites. Responsibilities include the ongoing review of HIS processes to ensure optimum efficiency across two campuses, recruitment, training and development of staff, casemix management, medical record forms review and rationalisation, completion of Quality Improvement activities, and representing HIS on various committees, ensuring all department KPIs are achieved.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management (HIM) or equivalent with at least 3 years’ experience
  • Previous staff management responsibilities
  • A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills

Preferred Criteria

  • Knowledge of private sector funding models
  • Knowledge of the WebPAS Patient Information System
