Our Health Information Services team is a leader in health information management. As the first public health service in Victoria to implement a centralised data team supporting both Health Information Services and Specialist Consulting roles, we’ve paved the way for a new and innovative delivery model. The success of this model is seeing other public health services move to organise themselves in a similar way.

We are now looking to engage an individual with a keen interest in data and data quality to integrate with our team of technical specialists who provide regular, timely and accurate reporting of non-admitted activity to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

The team and the role

The VAED team’s key responsibilities are data submission, auditing, testing, documentation and training. It is also responsible for developing and implementing the necessary underlying business processes within Specialist Consulting to ensure compliance with DHHS definitions and business rules. Fulltime Ongoing position, however two part time incumbents would also be considered

About You
You are an accomplished team player with a passion for people and systems, and you can readily demonstrate:

  • Experience providing end-user training
  • Experience and demonstrated skill and knowledge with using a PAS (e.g. iPM)
  • Experience of Microsoft Office products
  • High attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn with a positive approach to a frequently changing environment
  • Graduate HIMs are encouraged to apply


Ideally you will also have:

  • Previous experience in reporting data to the Department of Health and Human Services
  • An understanding of the relationship between data reported and Activity Based Funding
