WW6122 - Director, Classification and Coding Standards - (Full-time) - Independent Hospital Pricing Authority, Sydney, NSW


IHPA is seeking candidates with strong leadership skills to manage a high performing small team responsible for a range of complex projects related to health care classification systems.

The Director, Classification and Coding Standards, is responsible for leading a competent team of project managers that oversee all components of health classification system development to support the implementation of national Activity Based Funding (ABF).


Essential: 
  • People and leadership skills including the ability to articulate organisational, functional objectives and operational priorities, including the capacity to build workforce capability to achieve the section's objectives.
  • Demonstrated strategic and program management skills including an ability to develop, interpret and apply government policies and processes in a complex environment.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills, including liaison and negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate complex and sensitive issues successfully to various steering committees, working groups and IHPA management and staff.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of IHPA, hospital operations and ABF classifications and coding standards, or an ability to develop these rapidly.


Desirable: 
  • Qualifications in Public Administration, Health Information Management or Health Economics will be an advantage.
