The Opportunity

  • Assist with the development, establishing and maintaining best practice policies, procedures and guidelines in relation to health information management, with an aim to standardise across community sites, and integrate/link client information where possible.
  • Support the operational planning and development of health information requirements and functions in line with the CHQ HHS Digital Delivery Program.
  • Provide expert advice, education and training in health information management, including records management, documentation, privacy and confidentiality, data collection and reporting to a broad array of services and disciplines within the Child and Youth Community Health Service and Child and Youth Mental Health Service.


The Successful Candidate

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the development and maintenance of a quality client health record management environment, including the ability to show initiative and leadership within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated high level of expertise and knowledge of the requirements (legislation, regulations, policies and procedures) for management of client/patient information, and high level expertise and knowledge of health informatics as it applies to current and future health information management developments.
  • Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills including effective negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering educational material, as well as proven constructive participation in multi-disciplinary project teams and committees.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality improvement principles in the context of service delivery. In depth knowledge of how accurate and timely data supports service delivery models for a community health service.
