Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital (HSNPH) is a leading private Catholic, hospital jointly owned by the Holy Spirit Missionary Sisters and St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA). HSNPH is an accredited tertiary facility, which provides comprehensive inpatient and day services across a broad range of medical and surgical disciplines.

Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital has 227 beds, 8 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter laboratories, a 15 bed intensive care unit, a day procedural and endoscopy unit, a day surgery and admissions lounge, a 17 chair day oncology unit and a 24-hour private emergency centre – all fully equipped with the most advanced technology. Extensive diagnostic imaging, pathology, pharmacy, allied health services and pastoral care support services are also available onsite.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and suitably experienced Assistant Manager to join our Health Information team on a full time basis of 76 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Hold a HIMAA-accredited degree in Health Information Management
  • Have a minimum 3 years’ experience in the Health Information function in a hospital environment with a varied casemix
  • Be eligible for full membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia
  • Manage the operations of the Medical Records Department to ensure staff and work processes are efficient, effective and patient-focused
  • Oversee records management including, but not limited to, the record structure, storage, forms management and the capture of clinical documentation
  • Develop, manage, support and promote HIS quality initiatives to ensure continual improvement of HSNPH information management in line with industry best practice
  • Develop, implement and maintain Health Information Service policies and procedures in line with ACHS standards Provide professional advice to the Manager, Health Information Services and on governance matters relating to health information management including medical records management, data and analysis, and ehealth initiatives.
  • Support the Manager, Health Information Services (HIS) to ensure all statutory reporting, research and business intelligence data requirements are satisfied within designated timeframes, in line with legislation
  • Promote organisational compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles
  • Support the Manager, HIS and take on required duties in their absence
  • Report directly to the Manager, Health Information Services; HIS Clerical staff report directly to this position
