Health Information Services is seeking applications from suitably qualified Health Information Managers for a challenging yet rewarding vacancy at Cabrini Brighton.

This position oversees the day to day running of the Brighton site encompassing staff management, coding duties, quality improvement activities and other relevant duties.

The successful applicant will be a Health Information Manager who has experience in staff management or who has a strong desire to learn and develop these skills on the job with a small but stable team of staff. As a site manager, you will be expected to set the Department culture, show appropriate leadership but also be guided as necessary on priorities and supported as required by the Department Director. Innovative thinking and a desire to continually improve practice and service culture is essential.

Essential: 
  • Qualifications in Health Information Management (or equivalent)
  • Capacity to lead a team with experience in staff management or a strong desire to learn management skills
  • Appropriate coding experience with a demonstrated understanding of the Australian Coding Standards
  • Established communication skills in a small work place environment
  • Ability to adapt and lead in an evolving work setting
  • Disciplined, organised, innovative and structured in work practice
  • Capability to implement change
  • Sound IT knowledge
  • Capacity to create and maintain a positive work culture.

Desirable: 
  • Knowledge of private heath care funding models
