We have an available Full Time Health Information Manager role in the Mater Hospital Health Information Services department.


The Opportunity

The Health Information Manager provides leadership and management of all aspects of the Health Information Service. The position ensures that the provision of information is at the forefront by improving the quality of data and ensuring accurate clinical processes to meet ACHS standards.


The candidate must have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health Information Management.
  • Significant experience in staff management, processes and procedures within a Medical Record Department.
  • Experience in preparation and submission of data to health funds and NSW Ministry of Health.
  • Significant Medico-legal experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM, ACHI & ACS, with clinical coding and case mix experience.
  • High level leadership, communication, negotiation & interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of all relevant Australian Standards for record management and legislative requirements.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and analytical skills with the ability to extract, interpret and present clinically coded data.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and effectively manage a heavy and constantly changing workload to meet service demands, productivity targets and strict deadlines
